Dermaplaning Service

What conditions does dermaplaning treat?

Dermaplaning is used to treat rough, dry skin, superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. It is great for clients who have excess vellus hair on the skin because it often causes a buildup of dirt and oils in the follicles. This treatment is also excellent for women who are pregnant or nursing who want a deep exfoliation, but are not allowed to use peeling agents on their skin. Dermaplaning is recommended for use prior to medical procedures such as laser treatments or chemical peels.

Procedure expections?

The licensed provider uses a scalpel and a delicate touch to abrade the surface of the skin using light, feathering strokes. Removing dead epidermal skin allows products to penetrate to deeper layers of the skin. The treatment results in a smoother and brighter complexion.

Will my hair grow back thicker or darker after the treatment?

Vellus hair (peach fuzz) grows back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment.

Dermaplaning is not ideal for clients who experience an allergy to nickel, have raised lesions on the skin or inflamed acne

Is there downtime?

There is no downtime associated with this procedure. However, it is critical to use sunscreen after this exfoliating procedure to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation.

How often
should I have it done?

Dermaplaning can be done as often as every two to four weeks.
